Job Title: Sr. Process Design Engineer

Salary Range: $90,000 to $130,000/yr. base salary

B.S. Chemical Engineering minimum, M.S. ChemE preferred; 5-20 years of experience – this person MUST have strong process design skills and should have experience with processes using reactors and/or distillation columns. This company highly prefers candidates be out of operating firms, but will consider people out of E&C firms that has at least some operating plant experience. Candidates should know how to perform front-end design work and should have experience (ideally) with $1M+ projects. Travel for this job will be 50%, mostly domestic, some international.

Job Description:
This person will be at a manufacturing site approximately ½ an hour south of Houston (800 people on-site). This person will be assigned to work on a large multi-million dollar expansion will be part of a team  consisting of two project engineers, one environmental engineer, and E&C contractors. This project involves other chemical manufacturers in India and China (licensors) and those companies will be assisting on this project as well. Approximately 50% of the time, this person will be at the Licensor office reviewing and approving P&IDs, PFDs, specifications and equipment drawings and the other 50% of the job this person will be overseeing front-end design, overseeing construction, doing commissioning work, etc. Relocation assistance will be provided if needed and the parent company is a large chemical manufacturer with multiple sites in the U.S. This job reports to the process engineering manager.
